Surfas is dishing out an afternoon Asian food demos!
First at noon, Chef Andy from the Sushi Chef Institute will enlighten us with sushi making basics. Basic rolls, cutting techniques, traditional and non-traditional materials and ingredients found at Surfas will be used in this fun and informative demo. This demo will last approximately one hour, and samples and recipes will be provided for FREE!
At 3pm in the Test Kitchen, Roy Choi, Mark Manguera and Caroline Manguera from the Kogi Korean BBQ Truck will demo their famous Korean BBQ Tacos! The Kogi truck fuses two loves of L.A. food: Korean BBQ and the Taco Truck, gaining a following not only for their excellent food, but as a pioneer in using Twitter and the internet to spread the word about their food- and their hidden locations.
